Brian McQuillan

Hampden Artist Brian McQuillan's lifelong interest in art has been instrumental to his evolving into a welded metal/scrap metal sculptor. Originally learning his welding skills a number of years ago to build Rat Rods, he very quickly became fascinated by the works of such notable scrap metal artists as South Dakota native John Lopez, and artist James Kitchen from Chesterfield MA.  McQuillan's work is always intricate, he seems to enjoy challenging himself with the large amount of unusual objects assembled into one of his creations. His lively sculptures are often humorous, sometimes thought provoking, but always entertaining. As well as participating in The Scantic River Artisans shows, Brian's work has been shown at the Elusie Gallery in Easthampton, and his sculpture "Vida" is currently in the acclaimed "Art In The Orchard" Exhibit at Park Hill Orchards. Brian and his wife Marie, make their home in Hampden MA.
